The virus' unexpected gifts

Morning walks are a way of life for me and I have become accustomed to seeing the same faces on the different daily routes I choose, but now I have new folk to nod and smile at, while keeping our 1.5m distance,  as all the stay-at-home people are discovering the joy of early mornings. Some just saunter  along, others stride purposefully determine to meet whatever the deadline it, others see and hear no-one as they walk swiftly to beat of their earphones, while other impress with their fitness as they run from A to B. I have fun imagining what they did in life before THE VIRUS gave them an unexpected holiday and time to see their local world in the early morn. I hope they enjoy getting to know their neighbourhood on foot instead of from the window of the car and go home refreshed and ready to tackle all those chores they never had time for.
